California-born soprano Amber Wagner, a winner of the 2007 Grand Finals Concert of the Metropolitan Opera National Council (MONC) Auditions and a featured artist in the Met’s documentary film “The Audition,” already has an impressive array of operatic appearances. She triumphed in the title role in Ariadne auf Naxos at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Canadian Opera Company, and Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, Spain. She also recently performed as Elsa in Lohengrin, debuting the role in Chicago and then again at the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland last summer. In October, she made her Metropolitan Opera debut as Anna in Nabucco. This season also sees Amber debuting with Oper Frankfurt in the role of Sieglinde as well as in the role of Senta from Der Fliegende Holländer at the Savonlinna Opera Festival in July.
