Arturo Sandoval
Arturo Sandoval is one of the most dynamic and vivacious live performers in the world. He cofounded the GRAMMY-winning band Irakere, whose explosive mixture of jazz, classical, rock, and traditional Cuban music caused a sensation throughout the entertainment world. His dazzling talent on multiple instruments attracted the attention of Dizzy Gillespie, who became his mentor and his inspiration. Sandoval’s well-known life story—made into an Emmy Award-winning HBO movie, For Love or Country, starring Andy Garcia—added to his international renown.
Sandoval has been awarded six GRAMMY Awards and nominated twelve times. He has also received six Billboard Awards and one Emmy Award. He has recorded or performed with a range of artists across the jazz, pop and classical spectrum—from Dizzy Gillespie, Michel Legrand, and Stan Getz to Frank Sinatra, Alicia Keys, and John Williams with the Boston Pops. He has even performed in the Super Bowl with Tony Bennett and Patti LaBelle.
There will be two performances. 7PM and 9PM
