John Mayall’s legendary place in music history is firmly established by his role in championing the blues in a rock world and melding what is considered as modern blues and rock. John Mayall started his professional music career backing blues greats such as John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker, and Sonny Boy Williamson on their English club tours. After gaining experience as a backup player, Mayall started his own band, The Bluesbreakers.
