    The Posies

It's officially been 30 years since Jon Auer & Ken Stringfellow, high school mates from Bellingham WA, USA, recorded as The Posies and released "Failure", a home recorded, self-released cassette that had the improbable fate of landing the band two commercial radio hits and a record deal w the David Geffen Company, where they became labelmates of Sonic Youth, Nirvana & Teenage Fanclub. Now with a legacy of eight critically lauded albums (their latest, "Solid States" was released in 2016), a loyal population of fans around the globe, and a body of work with such classic alternative/indie anthems as "Dream All Day", "Solar Sister", "Coming Right Along" and many more, the band is still active and looking forward to its fourth decade in music. Sammy Brue / Pearl Charles

Pearl Charles lives in the moment, seeking excitement whether it leads her down a dark, dusty road or into the arms of a trouble-making lover. Her full-length debut album, Sleepless Dreamer, describes late night revelry, love affairs, running away and running towards, serenading the sunrise through whirlwind stories of her native Los Angeles, the city, the canyon, the desert, and the road. On a quest to discover the truest version of herself, Charles embraces the feeling of not being settled, a person who always restlessly wants more from life and is willing chase it, wherever it may lead her.

    Jo Passed

The nicest thing anyone has ever – ever – said to Jo Hirabayashi, frontman of Jo Passed, is that his band’s debut album sounds like “fucked-up Beatles”. Titled Their Prime, the LP does sound like fucked-up Beatles. It sounds like, somewhere across an ‘80s universe, Lennon and McCartney discovered Can and Neu!, and maybe a little Sonic Youth and XTC along the way.

Transviolet is an LA-based quartet made up of vocalist/lyricist Sarah McTaggart, multi-instrumentalist/producer Michael Panek, drummer/producer Jonathan Garcia, and guitarist/keyboardist Judah McCarthy. The band’s first song, “Girls Your Age” popped online in the summer of 2015 announcing Transviolet’s arrival. “Girls Your Age” gained instant online traction with Sarah’s voice at once recalling the Lana, Lorde, Karen O and Imogen Heap: sultry, measured, assured. with Magic Bronson

    Griffin House

With Griffin House’s upcoming album, So On and So Forth, it is clear the artist digs deep and offers up his narrative after much reflection. House is now a young family man and artist who is choosing sobriety and celebrating the path to his success, through songs which share his perspective on how people remember the past with rose-colored glasses, how we grow up and realize what we deeply need, and how we must find happiness in ourselves in the present.

    Post Animal

Chicago-based Post Animal are a band of brothers. Though they formed in 2014 and just began touring in 2017, their affinity for slick riffs, pop hooks, and psychedelic tendencies join them in a bond much tighter than their years suggest. Initially formed when childhood friends, bassist Dalton Allison and guitarist Matt Williams, met keyboardist and guitarist Jake Hirshland, the band’s sound began to take shape when the three enlisted some more pals from both the Chicago music scene and through their time working at local burger joints. Rounding out the band’s lineup, Post Animal is completed by drummer Wesley Toledo and guitarists Javi Reyes and Joe Keery.

    Bruno Major

Having initially worked as a session guitarist, Bruno Major moved down from Northampton to London and, inspired by the energy of the city, became obsessed with songwriting. Honing his craft writing for other artists while all the time formulating his own musical style; an impossible to pigeonhole blend of sounds that can draw upon anything from James Blake and D’Angelo to Chet Baker and Nick Drake to create its own, uniquely intoxicating aura. It wasn’t until a chance psychoactive revelation last year, however, that he struck upon the idea that would give him the perfect means to realise it.

    Quiet Slang

Rock and roll is sort of my consolation prize for wanting to have been a writer,” says James Alex. It’s a humble admission from the frontman of Philadelphia’s Beach Slang, a fiery punk quartet whose raucous gigs often find the songwriter’s earnest lyrics bellowed back at him. Still, consider it a feat that fans are even able to hear those words from behind the trembling walls of distortion that serve as Beach Slang’s raison d’etre. Everything about Beach Slang is loud, from the guitars to its attitude to Alex’s weathered rasp.

    Still Woozy

Still Woozy is the solo project of Sven Gamsky. He writes, records, and produces everything in his garage, for now at least. He hopes to eventually move his studio to a room with windows. The music he makes is inspired by anything that's ever stuck with him, and of course, the vast internet, which has been one of his closest friends and greatest nemesis's. He seeks to combine electronic elements with acoustic sounds to create music that feels both familiar and foreign, but that ultimately helps people be a little more intimate and vulnerable with the ones they love.
